“Whatever it takes for this region to win, let’s go win.” Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports (FCS), laid out the mantra for the sports-and-entertainment nonprofit eight years ago while accepting the OEP Chairman’s Award. The message was clear: Orlando and the greater Central Florida area can achieve any success it aspires to through collaboration.

Today, the results of Hogan’s vision are playing out. In 2024, the Sports Business Journal named Orlando the best city in America for hosting sports and entertainment events. The community-wide honor results from the teamwork Hogan championed and reflects his organization’s vision. FCS has branched out from its roots as a bowl game to a multi-sport company, adding international soccer and youth sports to its core college football events. Last July, they hosted Manchester City’s U.S. preseason tour, including a sold-out match against Barcelona in Orlando. In the fall, the Pop-Tarts Bowl eclipsed its viral first year with nearly 6 billion impressions and over $26 million in media value for the snack brand.

Already in 2025, FCS hosted four Brazilian soccer clubs and hometown Orlando City in the FC Series. In February, the organization served as local organizer for the NFL Pro Bowl Games. The flag football showcase drew its second-straight crowd of over 50,000 fans in Orlando, now the most prolific host of the NFL’s all-star event outside of Hawaii. Even more lies ahead this year. FCS’s signature event, the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, will kick off its 80th anniversary. This summer, the FIFA Club World Cup will feature six matches locally, further solidifying Orlando’s reputation as a premier destination for international sports. FCS has another milestone in 2025 — Hogan’s 30th year with the organization. What better way to celebrate than to start design and construction for the $400 million second phase of Camping World Stadium reconstruction? The advancement of the stadium project is a testament to the
collaboration of the City of Orlando and Orange County, the kind of partnership Hogan cited as a key to victory.

With world-class partners and a commitment to excellence, FCS is preparing for more wins in 2025.
