Walt Disney World

It’s hard not include the mouse in this roundup, with dozens of Halloween-inspired foods—Disney is exceptionally exceptional in celebrating the season of spook.

Inside The Magic Kingdom

Head down Main Street and pop into Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for this incredible (and new) treat, the Graveyard Milk Shake: a chocolate milkshake with a dipped graveyard jelly doughnut, white chocolate tombstone, gummy candy and a Haunted Mansion straw.

Just next door, The Plaza Restaurant offers a Ghoulishly Gourmet Burger: Two all-beef patties with pepper jack and Swiss cheese, candied bacon, balsamic-glazed mushrooms, an onion ring and truffle-buffalo aïoli served on a black bun.

After that delicious burger, we recommend heading toward Cinderella’s Castle to the small outdoor vending booth for an Oogie Boogie Cupcake: a chocolate cupcake with marshmallow buttercream, cookies-and-cream buttercream, gummy candy and an Oogie Boogie chocolate piece.

And what visit to Magic Kingdom isn’t complete without a stop at The Haunted Mansion. Its outdoor vending booth offers a scary-good take on the pop tart, a Tombstone Tart: Sugar dough filled with cookies-and-cream-cheese mousse and Halloween décor.

Winter Park

Candied Caramel Apple Pastry Square

The Candied Caramel Apple Pastry from The Glass Knife.

The consensus on this petite cake is it’s damn delicious. The Glass Knife’s Not-So-Spookies Cookies & Cream Petite Cake is a must try on this list. Think velvety chocolate buttermilk cake layered with house-made cookies- and-cream filling and a fudge cookie crunch, topped with a dark chocolate glaçage; it’s finished with a cream-filled cookie and some Halloween whimsy. Like candied apples? Try the Candied Caramel Apple Pastry and never bob again. This silky caramel apple mousse is paired with a green apple compote and caramel center, coated in white chocolate, veiled in red glaçage atop a crunchy, brown sugar sable cookie. theglassknife.com

Looking for an 21+ Halloween experience? Starting September 24, come see the sinister side of The Courtesy Bar’s Nightmare on Orange—a Halloween-themed pop-up with decorations, specialty cocktails and a festive ambiance all October long. This year, guests can enjoy a completely revamped cocktail menu with standout drinks like Genever’s Body with Genever rum and prickly pear habanero shrub and Kru Kai Mai Thai, a twist on a classic Mai Tai. Each year, the Courtesy staff lays to rest their spirited concoctions as they dream up new ones, but one cocktail has survived—the popular DAYWALKER, with vodka, elderflower tonic, chai-spiced cranberry, hibiscus, lemon and eyeballs (not edible). No, you didn’t read that date wrong—this year, The Courtesy Bar begins their takeover a couple of weeks early. thecourtesybar.com/nightmareonorange

Maitland

Permanent Vacation 3

Permanent Vacation in Maitland is transforming Halloween into an unforgettable limited-time experience, and it’s something every Central Floridian should experience. This hidden gem, tucked away inside The Copper Rocket, already has a reputation for being a quirky and immersive rum bar/speakeasy with a playful, island-inspired vibe. But during the Halloween season, it steps up its game with a spooky twist that makes it even more magical. Last year it was Tropical Terror Nights, but this year’s theme has yet to be announced.

The bar’s unique design, featuring tikis, hidden switches and interactive elements gets a haunting makeover that will delight both thrill-seekers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Downtown Orlando

Cocktails and Screams in downtown Orlando is a bar that fully embraces the macabre, making it the go-to spot for those who crave a bit of fright with their drinks. This horror-themed bar is a year-round Halloween haven, where every detail is designed to send shivers down your spine while tantalizing your taste buds. Each cocktail is crafted with a blend of top-tier spirits and imaginative ingredients, all served with a twist of the supernatural. Whether it’s a smoking concoction that bubbles over like a Witch’s Brew, made with Ole Smoky Sour Apple Moonshine, honey vanilla and cinnamon, finished with flambėed apples, or the Creature From The Black Lagoon, a classic dark and stormy with Kraken rum, fresh lime juice and ginger beer, the presentation is as thrilling as the taste.

But it’s not just the drinks that make Cocktails and Screams stand out; it’s the immersive experience. The staff, dressed in character, are as much a part of the atmosphere as the décor, and they’re always ready to surprise you with a recommendation that’s to die for. barnonecreationsfl.com/cocktails-screams
