Sijo J. Parekattil, MD, FACS

ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Dr. Sijo Parekattil is the Director of Avant Concierge Urology, Winter Garden, FL, and an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Before his medical training, he was an Electrical Engineer (University of Michigan) and thus has an interest in surgical techniques incorporating technology, robotics, and microsurgery. He completed his urology residency training at Albany Medical Center and dual fellowship training from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, in Laparoscopy/ Robotic Surgery and Microsurgery/Male Infertility.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Dr. Parekattil has received numerous awards and has published several articles in the field of robotic microsurgery. He is an editor of a few textbooks on male infertility and a surgical textbook on robotic microsurgery. He is also a pioneer in robotics and office-based microsurgery in urology. He has developed novel treatments for chronic groin and testicular pain.

AFFILIATIONS

He is one of the founding Board members of the Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society (RAMSES) and is on the foundation board for Florida Polytechnic University, Lakeland, FL. He is also the President-Elect for the Florida Urological Society.
