Gatorland is committed to animal conservation, not only of alligators and other reptiles but of any species in need. So, when three red fox siblings who were rescued from a fur farm needed a home, Gatorland didn’t hesitate.

“Among all the animals we have rescued in 75 years, we have never had an opportunity to adopt foxes,” said Mark McHugh, president & CEO of Gatorland. “These beautiful young foxes were destined to be killed for their fur when Save a Fox Rescue boldly bought the farm and brought them to us. We want everyone to come and see them in the brand-new habitat we custom-built especially for them, which we have humorously named ‘Foxes in The Hen House.’”

This is the first time Lakota and his two sisters, Nova and Cha’Tima, have felt grass under their feet and have been able to run around. They love to chase each other, dig holes and play with balls, rope and tunnels.

Red foxes are native to Florida and come in three color variations. They are most active at dawn and dusk, when they hunt. It is illegal to touch, feed or attempt to capture a fox in the wild. gatorland.com
