Finding creative solutions to community needs on a large scale seems to be a particular gift of Harris Rosen. The local hotelier and philanthropist has spearheaded a number of community-enriching initiatives, from creating a self-funded Rosen healthcare plan for his associates, to providing scholarships and educational opportunities for underserved neighborhoods. But this time, he’s giving a hand up to a facility near and dear to his heart.

In 2020, the YMCA of Central Florida announced that it would transfer ownership of the Rosen YMCA Aquatic Center on International Drive to the nonprofit Harris Rosen Foundation. The world-class fitness and aquatic center houses three pools, diving facilities and a fitness center, and offers a wide range of fitness classes, both in and out of the water. Locals can take advantage of membership packages, with special rates available to hospitality workers. But the center’s location on International Drive makes it the perfect spot for visitors to keep up with their fitness routines as well, with one-day, three-day and weekly passes; visit the center’s website to learn more. rosenaquatic.com
