First Look at the How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe

Universal’s Epic Universe theme park is set to open in 2025, and visitors of every age will have the chance to immerse themselves in the magical, dragon-filled world of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. This vivid, dynamic land is one of five unique worlds awaiting guests, offering an unparalleled adventure that brings the celebrated DreamWorks Animation trilogy to life. Imagine stepping into a realm where Vikings and dragons coexist in thrilling harmony, offering an array of attractions, interactive character encounters, dining experiences, shops, and the opportunity to experience flight alongside dragons.

This new addition to the theme park is the result of a collaboration between Universal Creative and the brilliant minds at DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures. The Isle of Berk brings the spirit, laughter, and grandeur of the “How to Train Your Dragon” films into a real-world setting. Here, the detailed, rugged landscape of Berk comes alive with towering structures, intricate hand-carved details, flourishing greenery, and the awe-inspiring sight of dragons and Vikings living together. Guests will find themselves surrounded by a world of excitement, from dragons roaming freely in their habitats to unexpected fire eruptions, making every corner of Berk a discovery in itself.

Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted with a stunning view reminiscent of the memorable landscapes from the movies, complete with a glistening lagoon and imposing Viking statues. The island boasts a collection of four thrilling rides, a live show, and numerous opportunities to meet and interact with characters and dragons from the series, ensuring a memorable experience for the whole family:

• Hiccup’s Wing Gliders invites guests to join Hiccup on a high-flying adventure around Berk, offering breathtaking views at speeds of up to 45 mph.
• The Untrainable Dragon show brings the story of Hiccup and his friends to life in a dramatic, musical adventure featuring life-sized dragons.
• Fyre Drill offers a splashy, competitive boat ride where participants aim to extinguish fires, a vital skill in a world shared with dragons.
• Dragon Racer’s Rally challenges riders to master the skies with acrobatic flights and high-speed maneuvers atop dragon-inspired vehicles.
• Viking Training Camp provides a playful, interactive area where younger guests can learn about dragon life through a variety of engaging activities.
• A special meet-and-greet area, the Haddock Paddock, allows for unforgettable photo opportunities with Hiccup and the beloved Toothless, with additional chances to meet other characters throughout Berk.
